World Governments Summit, TIME host TIME100 Impact Awards Ceremony at Museum of the Future, honoring extraordinary leaders in AI
The World Governments Summit 2024, taking place in Dubai between 12 and 14 February under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments’, will host the TIME100 Impact Awards AI, in partnership with TIME, which for the first time ever shifts the focus entirely to AI, recognizing individuals who have gone above and beyond to move their industries—and the world—forward in the AI space. The ceremony took place at the Museum of the Future, Dubai.
Co-hosting the TIME100 Impact Awards AI ceremony aligns with the World Governments Summit’s mission and objectives of highlighting exceptional talent at the cutting edge of AI technology, art, and innovation, and inspiring accomplishments that make a difference in the lives and future of communities.
Promoting Sustainable Development
Mohamed Al Sharhan, Managing Director of the World Governments Summit Organisation said: “Since its launch in 2013, the World Governments Summit has prioritized the advancement of future-centric sectors, including AI. Several sessions and forums, hosting top speakers, were dedicated to this field, anticipating its potential and future opportunities, and highlighting its central role in promoting sustainable development and enhancing government work.”
Partnering with TIME to host the TIME100 Impact Awards AI is a testament to the World Governments Summit’s efforts to highlight and recognize the accomplishments of AI visionaries, their expertise and visions. It also reflects its focus on extending partnerships within the AI field alongside major international media it, Al Sharhan added.

TIME100 AI Impact Awards
Four leaders will be presented with TIME100 Impact Awards during the ceremony, which focused exclusively on AI. It will be held at the Museum of the Future the night before the launch of World Governments Summit 2024. The honorees are Yann LeCun, vice president and chief AI scientist, Meta; Sougwen Chung, artist, researcher and founder, Studio Scilicet; Kay Firth-Butterfield, CEO, Good Tech Advisory LLC; and Karim Beguir, co-founder & CEO, InstaDeep.
A host of leaders and influentials will also attend the ceremony, which includes special musical performances.
Global Attendance
The 11th edition of the WGS witnesses the participation of over 25 heads of state and governments, 85 international organisations, government delegations, and global thought leaders and experts. The summit's agenda includes six main themes and 15 global forums addressing major international trends and transformations in over 110 principal dialogic and interactive sessions. WGS 2024 will feature 200 global personalities and will witness over 23 ministerial meetings, with more than 300 ministers attending.
