DU is ‘headline partner’ of the government summit 2014

The Government Summit announces its partnership with du, which joins a group of other distinguished partners as Headline Partner.

The second Government Summit is inspired by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum during the first Summit to focus on developing creative concepts in providing government services, and the vision of His Highness for future government that exceeds customers’ expectations. The Summit also aims to underline an inspiring model of government services based on the ‘five-star’ hospitality, financial services and aviation industries, for which the United Arab Emirates is internationally renowned.

Elaborating on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to develop public sector in accordance in tune with best international standards, Ahmad Bin Byat, Chairman of du, said: “The Government Summit brings public and private sector together in a partnership on an uniquely interactive platform for encouraging national and international dialogue on developing customer service concepts, in line with the vision of the UAE’s leadership to develop new concepts in customer service based on creativity and innovation. The Summit’s theme of ‘utilising the unique experiences of the private sector’ lays a great responsibility on local private institutions, encouraging them to do their part to the fullest, based on a clear understanding of both customers’ and government client needs. It gives us immense pride to be a strategic partner of this event. I am confident that the event will bear fruitful results not only for the UAE government, but for the region as a whole.”

He added: “As a UAE national company, we dedicate all our resources in strengthening our government’s standing regionally and internationally by adopting the latest connectivity solutions and technical innovations to cater to the community needs from a global perspective. We look forward to sharing our expertise in the field of smart government at the event. We are committed to the cause of realising His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision for a happier society through smart government; in this regard we have launched a smart platform that allows government organizations to develop smart applications that meet the needs of the community.
“In cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and the Department of Naturalization and Residency, we are working towards launching smart applications that serve the public. We have also launched a competition for university students, aiming to create a community of smart application developers in the UAE in line with the leadership’s vision. We look forward to achieving more in this area,” Byat concluded.

The Summit will be attended by over 60 regional and international speakers and intellectuals in addition to over 3500 delegates. It will witness the launch of a series of international reports on the development of government services, and propose many worksheets and constructive discussions that will contribute to the expansion and dissemination of knowledge and establishing a model government sector development in the region.
The previous edition of the Summit received strong support from the UAE leadership. It was also very positively received by the public, and discussed topics of concern on a regional and international level.

During the last Summit, the UAE leadership established a new model for governmental transparency at the regional level, and an innovative practice of directly interacting with the public on topics related to national development.
