Building a positive state is vital for the wellbeing of future generations, Jacques Attali, President of Positive Planet Foundation, said in a breakout address on the first day of the 2019 edition of the World Government Summit held in Dubai, UAE. He called upon leaders to set targets with our children in mind, thinking for the long term instead of making snap, short-term decisions. “When we look at the global index of positivity and the climate, positivity of the whole OECD countries is declining, not improving. This is a sign that we care more about today than about tomorrow,” he said. Artificial intelligence, for example, can be used as a tool for improving people’s life in tomorrow’s world, if used wisely – or as a quick route for merely earning profit today. “We should behave in favor of the next generation and ensure its happiness,” he stressed.
