Governments alone cannot create the enabling environment for citizen wellbeing; the role of individuals and the private sector is equally important. The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of a robust healthcare system and an engaged healthcare sector. Looking ahead, governments grapple with improving public health preparedness and response towards future pandemics, but also the rise of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
