"Anna Ryott has one professional aim - to do everything in her power to eradicate poverty through sustainable business. Today, she is Managing Director and CEO of Swedfund, the Swedish Government's Development Finance Institution. Swedfund’s goal is to contribute to poverty reduction by financing sustainable business in emerging markets, thereby contributing to the implementation of the Agenda 2030.
Anna Ryott has extensive professional experience from civil society organisations and business. Before joining Swedfund, Ms Ryott was Managing Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sweden, and prior to that, she was Deputy Secretary General of UNICEF Sweden. On the business side, she worked at the leading Swedish advertising Agency, Storåkers McCann. She also worked at McKinsey and at the investment bank Hagströmer & Qviberg.
Anna Ryott also sits on the board of the World Childhood Foundation, the UN Foundation Global Entrepreneurs Council and the Anna Lindh Academy.
Anna Ryott holds a M.Sc. from Stockholm University. In 2014, she was awarded H.M. The King's Medal for ""Significant contributions to Swedish society and industry"".
Ms Ryott is the author of the book, Sustainable and profitable business, and has received several honours as a young and progressive leader."
